Your safety as an exhibitor at our show is very important to us. We ask for your co-operation in ensuring there is a clear way for emergency vehicles all the way around the
show field. Parking restrictions will be in place on the show day; please respect the instructions of our stewards.

All timings are approximate. Judging begins at 10:00 a.m., with the first class in each ring, for all sections, except the ridden thoroughbred working hunter starting at 9:15am sharp. 

The classes in each section run consecutively, so please check the running order and progression of the classes in any section entered.

The rings and estimated timings may be subject to change. Please check social media postings for the Royal Meath Show for confirmation of Rings and approximate times closer to the date.

Competitors must print their own numbers in advance. 

Print or handwrite your CLASS number and your INDIVIDUAL COMPETITOR NUMBER for that class on a card or paper before arrival at the showground. Bring safety pins or string to attach the number to the rider or handler. All competitors must display their class number and individual number before entering the ring, please. 

Some classes will be capped at a maximum number of entries for safety reasons. Please register early to prevent disappointment. 

There are a large number of classes running concurrently. Approximate times have been provided to help competitors determine which classes they wish to enter; no refund will be given if competitors do not present for their classes.

An Animal's Passport Number MUST accompany all Entries.
RULES

• All horses must have a valid passport as required by the Department of Agriculture.
• All horses and ponies that are competing in the rescue class must have proof of neglect.
• All horses and ponies must be led and not left unattended.
• Please keep the rear ramp of your trailer up when you are not with your trailer
• All riding helmets and back protectors must conform to the BHS standards.
• Stewards will observe and inspect tack. Unsafe tack will result in disqualification from a class.
• Judges’ decision is final.
• Classes may be amalgamated if there are fewer than 3 entries per class.
• Vouchers may be given instead of any prize money. Prizes will be subject to a 5% levy by Irish Shows Association.
• Entry fees will not be refunded in case entries are not sent forward for competition.
• Entry fees will not be refunded in case of disqualification from competition for failure to comply with the regulations

ALL MONIES MUST BE PAID WITH ENTRY ONLINE, OR IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please check that your entry has gone through and payment has been taken. Confirmation of entry will inform you of your competitor number for each class.

The horse secretary team makes every effort to ensure that competitors have an enjoyable and safe event. For those who are new to showing, there is a wide range of videos available, including some from Horse and Hound on what to expect and how to prepare for different shows. These cover topics such as how to choose which classes to enter, how to prepare, what to bring, and presentation and turnout.  The horse secretary team can not advise parents on which classes their competitor should enter. Parents should consider the ability and confidence of their rider and equine team, and what they consistently achieve during practice, their confidence, temperament as a team, and how they perform in busy environments. We hope that this event increases all competitors' enjoyment of the sport and enhances their relationship with their horse/pony.
